How do I create a group list?

When you create a group list, you become the admin of the list and have special control over what the title of the list is, and deleting any items in the list. To create a group list:

  1. Open Veelist and go to the List Box screen.

  2. At the top of the List Box screen, tap the + button.

  3. Add list members by selecting from your contacts. Tap the names from the drop-down contact list and a check mark will appear in front of their name, then tap Done.

  4. Type in a title or name. This will be the name of the list that all members will see, then tap Create.

  5. Your group list is ready for all members to see, items to be added, and chat messages to be exchanged will list members.

  6. Each member that is added to a list is sent a push notification, informing them that a list has been shared with them, and it can now be viewed in their List Box screens.

How do I create a solo list?

When you create a solo list, you are using Veelist to help yourself get organised. You can always add members to your existing solo list:

  1. Open Veelist and go to the List Box screen.

  2. At the top of the List Box screen, tap the + button.

  3. Tap Create a Solo List from the drop-down contact list.

  4. Tap YES, to confirm your wish to create a solo list.

  5. Type in a title or name. This will be the name of the list that only you will see, then tap Create.

  6. Your solo list is ready for items to be added. You can always add members later.

How do I add a contact to an existing list?

All the members of a list can add members to the list:

  1. Open the group or solo list.

  2. Tap the Contacts Icon at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Add list members by selecting from your contacts. Tap the names from the drop-down contact list and a check mark will appear in front of their name, then tap Done.

  4. Each member that is added to a list is sent a push notification, informing them that a list has been shared with them, and it can now be viewed in their List Box screens.

Another way to add a contact to an existing list:

  1. Open the group or solo list.

  2. Tap List Info to reveal the List info screen.

  3. Tap Add Member… at the bottom of the members list.

  4. Add list members by selecting from your contacts. Tap the names from the drop-down contact list and a check mark will appear in front of their name, then tap Done.

  5. Each member that is added to a list is sent a push notification, informing them that a list has been shared with them, and it can now be viewed in their List Box screens.

How do I delete a list?

You must be the list admin to delete a list. Deleting a list from your Veelist will delete the list from you List Box screen, and from the List Box screens of all the members of the list:

  1. Open Veelist and go to the List Box screen.

  2. Swipe a List Bar towards left.

  3. Tap Delete to confirm deletion.

Another way to delete a list:

  1. Open the list you wish to delete.

  2. Tap List Info to reveal the List info screen.

  3. Tap Delete List at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Tap Delete to confirm deletion.

Another way to delete one or more lists:

  1. Open Veelist and go to the List Box screen.

  2. Tap the Edit button in the top left corner of the List Box screen.

  3. Tap the icon for the list that you wish to delete.

  4. Tap Delete to confirm deletion.

How do I leave a list?

If you wish to delete a list and you are not the list admin, then leaving a list will delete the list from your Veelist. Other list members will be able to continue using the list:

  1. Open the list you wish to leave.

  2. Tap List Info to reveal the List info screen.

  3. Tap Leave List at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Tap Delete to confirm deletion.

How do I mute list notifications?

You can mute list notifications from the settings of your iPhone. You will still receive the messages sent to the list, and any changes to the status of the list will still be updated, but your phone will mute the sound of the all notifications associated with Veelist. To mute:

  1. Open iphone Settings.

  2. Tap Notification Center.

  3. Scroll down, then Tap Veelist.

  4. Switch Sounds button Off.

How do I edit title or name of a list?

You must be the list admin to edit the title or name of a list:

  1. Open the list, and tap List Info.

  2. Tap the title of the list to reveal the List Title screen.

  3. Type in the edited title or name of the list, tap Save.

How do I add an item to a list?

You many add as many items to a list as you wish:

  1. Open the list, and tap Add Item.

  2. Type in the title or name of the item up to 25 characters, tap OK.

  3. If you need to further elaborate on an item, you may add up to 1000 characters to add detail to an item.

How do I edit an item in a list?

The item must be incomplete in status to be edited. To edit a completed item, its status must be changed to incomplete:

  1. Open the list.

  2. Tap the item you wish to edit, to reveal the Item Name screen.

  3. Type in the edited item name up to 25 characters, tap Save.

How do I add details to an item?

Item detail up to 1000 characters may be added to elaborate on an item. The item must be incomplete in status to add detail. To add detail to a completed item, its status must be changed to incomplete:

  1. Open the list.

  2. Tap the item you wish to add detail to, to reveal the Item Detail screen.

  3. Type in the edited item detail up to 1000 characters, tap Save.

How do I delete items in a list?

You must be the list admin to delete an item a list. Deleting an item in a list will delete the item for all the members of the list:

  1. Open the list, and tap Edit to reveal the Edit screen.

  2. Tap circle next to the item you wish to delete. A check mark will appear next to the item you wish to delete.

  3. Tap Delete, then tap Delete to confirm deletion.

  4. If you wish to delete all items in the list, tap Clear All. Then tap Clear All to confirm deletion.

How do I change the status of an item to complete?

When the status of an item is changed to complete, a notification is sent to all the members of the list informing them about the change in status for this item:

  1. Open the list.

  2. Check the square box to left of the item bar.

  3. An alert will appear. Tap OK, to confirm the item is done.

How do I change the status of an item to incomplete?

When the status of an item is changed to incomplete, a notification is sent to all the members of the list informing them about the change in status for this item:

  1. Open the list.

  2. Uncheck the square box to left of the item bar.

  3. An alert will appear. Tap OK, to confirm the item is not done yet.

How do I use chat messaging?

You must be a member of a list to use chat messaging among the member of the list. When a message is sent, a notification is sent to all the members of the list informing them about the update in the Chat Box:

  1. Open the list.

  2. Tap the chat icon at the top right of the screen.

  3. Type in the chat message in the text bar, and tap Send.

How do I delete chat messages?

Deleting messages from your Chat Box permanently deletes the messages from your phone:

  1. Open the list.

  2. Tap the chat icon at the top right, to reveal the Chat Box screen.

  3. Slide your finger across the chat that you wish to delete, from right to left.

  4. A Delete button will appear. Tap to delete.

How do I upload, edit my profile image, and name?

Your profile photo, and name are visible to anyone you share a list with on Veelist. To set your profile photo and name:

  1. Open Veelist > List Box > More.

  2. Tap Edit to reveal the Your Details screen.

  3. Tap the text field to change the name that is visible to your contacts, then tap Save.

  4. Tap Change Image button to upload a photo from your media gallery, then tap Save.

Veelist does not have access to my photos

If you see an alert saying Veelist does not have access to your photos, then you need to enable access to be able to upload your profile photo. In order for Veelist to use photos from your Camera Roll or Photo albums, you will need to give permission to use the Photos from you iPhone. If you declined permission to use photos, you can grant permission by changing your iPhone’s Privacy Settings:

  1. In iPhone Settings, tap Privacy.

  2. Tap Photos.

  3. Make sure Veelist is set to ON.

Veelist and iPhone Contacts

In oder to get the best experience from Veelist, we recommend that you allow Veelist access to your phone’s contacts. We greatly value your privacy and we have not, do not, and will not sell your personal information for any marketing purposes. If you initially denied Veelist access to your phone’s contacts, you can enable access by going to your iPhone’s Settings:

  1. Go to iPhone Settings, then tap Privacy.

  2. Tap Contacts.

  3. Make sure Veelist is set to ON.

I cannot connect to Veelist!

Very rarely you may encounter issues sending, or received updates to your lists, exchanging chat messages, or be unable to connect to Veelist. This is usually caused by a problem with your phone’s internet connection, or a problem with your wireless carrier or internet service provider.

Most of these connections can be restored by, one or all of the following steps:

  1. Confirming you are using the latest version of Veelist from the App Store.

  2. Restart your iPhone

  3. In iPhone Settings, turn Airplane Mode to ON then OFF.

  4. In iPhone Settings > General > Reset > tap Reset Network Settings(This will delete all your saved Wi-Fi passwords.

  5. Upgrade or restore your iPhone’s iOS to the latest version for your device.

How do I deactivate my account?

Deactivating your account with Veelist will do the following:

  1. Delete your account from Veelist.

  2. Delete you from all Veelist group lists.

  3. Erase your message history on you phone.

To delete your Veelist account:

  1. Ensure you have the latest version of Veelist on your iPhone to see if there are any updates.

  2. Open Veelist > List Box > More > Deactivate Account on the bottom of the screen.

  3. Tap Logout to confirm deactivation.

Which Apple devices are supported?

Veelist for iPhone requires iOS 6.0 or later. For best experience, we recommend you use the latest version of iOS available for your phone.

Please note: Veelist is download enabled for iPhone, iPad and iPod at this time.

Veelist and push notifications

When a message is sent via Veelist, but you do not have the app open to receive, your iPhone will automatically display a push notification to alert you of the message. iOS apps can provide Sound, Alerts and Banners as notifications.

If for some reason you have having trouble receiving push notifications, please check your settings:

  1. In Veelist > Settings > Notification Center, check that Alerts are enabled. If you want to have an audible tone play when a notification is sent to your phone, then be sure to have an alert tone selected.

  2. In iPhone Settings > Notification Center, select Veelist. Here, you can set your preferences for Alert style (Banners, Pop-up alert, or None), Badges, and Sounds. If you want notifications to appear when your phone's display is off, be sure to enable Show on Lock Screen.

  3. The alert sound volume is controlled by your iPhone's ringer volume, which can be set in iPhone Settings > Sounds. Here, you can also set your Vibrate preferences.

Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection.

Note: Notifications use Wi-Fi only when a cellular connection is unavailable. Firewalls and proxy servers may affect your ability to receive notifications.

Verifying your phone number in Veelist

Veelist uses your phone number to making list sharing with friends and family easy. This way, you don’t need to remember usernames or accept any friend requests. The phone number of verification process is designed to be as simple as possible, but if you are having trouble verifying your number, please be sure to check the follows:

  1. You have the latest version of Veelist installed from the App Store.

  2. Your phone number is entered correctly in Contacts.

  3. You have chosen the correct country.

  4. You have entered your full phone number without the country code twice.

  5. Your phone has proper internet access with a strong signal. Try to open a webpage to make sure.

  6. Your phone can receive international SMS messages.

  7. Your device is not jailbroken.

  8. After you enter your phone number, please wait for an SMS to be delivered to your phone. The SMS will contain a verification code, which you can enter on the verification screen in Veelist.
